i am looking for an alternitive means of logging in clients to my app. the problem is that i dont want to use new database or anything like that - sometime clients update/change their passwords for thier accounts adding a database to keep users info would mean that doesnt get updated. i want to be able to log clients in with thier existing username/password so that they do not have to keep learning all new sets of unames/passwords.
i have tried using the frontpage extension "service.pwd" file but i cant figure the passwords encryption hash for comparision and learned what a security risk frontpage is.....
anybody got any ideas??????
